PHYS 763 - Advanced Particle Physics (C) 3 cr hrs
Description This one-semester course is aimed at bridging the gap between standard textbook material and research literature. It will be illustrated how the particle physics and technology introduced in prerequisite courses are applied in medicine (PET for example), industry (material screening for example), and leading-edge physics researches at LHC and underground laboratories. Participants will be guided through one or several applications taken from those fields in great detail. It provides necessary training for those who intend to work in a discipline where particle physics and technology plays an important role.
Prerequisites and Corequisites Prerequisite: PHYS 761
Notes (C) Denotes a common course.
