LAW 858 - Media and Communications Law

Description This course will examine an array of ways in which the law affects those individuals and entities involved in the media and communications industries. It will involve aspects of intellectual property, including copyright and trademark law. It will study the legal and constitutional issues that affect journalists and those involved in the news media. It will address the regulatory environments faced by the broadcast, cable, and internet mediums. And it will examine how the law of torts affects those in the media and communications industries.
