LAW 852 - Military Law

Description This course studies the U.S. Armed Forces military legal system and the laws of armed conflict.  Students will acquire an understanding of specific substantive areas which include constitutional law as it relates to the armed forces, military criminal and civil legal jurisdiction, the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) and the Manual for Courts-Martial, the tort claims process, the War Powers Act, law of armed conflict (to include the Geneva Conventions), foundational doctrines of international humanitarian law, and judge advocate operations.
