SCST 602 - MODELING AND MATHEMATICS

Description An introduction to mathematical models used to investigate scientific issues such as exponential growth and decay, ground-water contamination, air pollution, and hazardous material emergencies. Models will involve algebraic equations, systems of equations, calculus, probability, inferential statistics, and computer simulations. The emphasis will be on fundamental principles and concepts of mathematical models and their incorporation into the secondary curriculum.
