SOC 456 - Community Corrections (C) An examination of the history of adult and juvenile treatment and punishment. Emphasis is upon contemporary community based treatment as well as traditional prison-based incarceration. The process of sentencing, particularly the role of the pre-sentence investigation (PSI) is covered. Special attention is devoted to internship and career possibilities in the corrections arena.
