LAW 869 - SD DRAFTING AND LEGAL PRACTICE

Description This course is a skill-based course that focuses on typical practice areas students will encounter in South Dakota, although all students entering the practice of law will benefit without regard to geographical restrictions. The course begins with substantive presentations by respected South Dakota practitioners and judges in various areas of law and is followed by instruction in and practice drafting legal documents that students will regularly create upon entering the practice of law. This course serves to integrate the substantive and theoretical knowledge students have gained during law school with additional practical information and skills. This course is limited to third-year students, unless special permission is granted to second-year students.
