SOCW 486 - Social Work and Native Families and Children Social Work with Native Children and Families is intended to provide the student with a critical consideration of cultural responsiveness and social work practice with Native American populations and communities. The course topics will include cultural competency, Native American history, issues of social justice and oppression, the Indian Child Welfare Act, Native culture, social issues affecting children and families, and culturally specific social work practice models and interventions.
