PUBH 750 - Social and Behavioral Sciences in Public Health

Description This course is designed to provide MPH students with information concerning the interaction of sociocultural, psychological, behavioral, and environmental factors that function in the promotion of health and prevention of disease. Students will analyze and compare relevant theories and review research related to the interaction of these factors. This course will examine the development and implementation of evidence based public health interventions that address health promotion, disease prevention, and health disparities at the individual, group, organizational, community and public policy levels. Ethical considerations inherent to efforts designed to produce health-related behavior change are examined.
