LAW 868 - Race and the Law

Description This course will examine the legal processes and historical forces that governed the manner in which racial categories were constructed; the manner in which racism and its associated normative practices developed and were enforced; and the manner in which law and policy were used to entrench racial inequality. These topics will be considered by focusing on the experiences of African-Americans, Native Americans, Latinos, Asian-Americans, and White Americans.
