ARTH 417 - History of Printmaking


Printmaking allows for the dissemination, movement, and reproduction of imagery. This course explores the importance of printmaking in the Western world. Key themes of the course include the historical and political implications of printmaking, the material culture and life of art objects, and the distribution of imagery. In addition to the study of individual works of art and artists, the course will examine the theory and significance of printmaking in cultural contexts.
