THEA 477 - Philosophy and Tragedy This class is an exploration of a long running debate about the merits and limitations of human rationality and the power of the arts by comparing philosophical works about tragedy (e.g., Aristotle, Hegel, Nietzsche) with literary and performative works of tragedy (e.g., Antigone, Bacchae, King Lear).
