BIOL 161 - Principles of Genetics & Evolution One of four courses in the introductory course sequence for Biology majors and in the pre-professional curriculum for the health sciences. Topics presented include principles of Mendelian and population genetics; mitosis and meiosis; the chromosomal basis of inheritance; micro- and macro-evolution; and an introduction to phylogenetics.
Prerequisites and Corequisites Course corequisite: BIOL 161L - Principles of Genetics & Evolution Laboratory
Note Lecture plus lab component.
