Description This course advances the study of American Political Development (APD) through engaging what is known by contemporary APD scholars and to begin applying that knowledge to our own research and professional interests. The field of APD focuses on the ways that political culture, ideology, governing structures and political linkages shape the nation and explores decisions of the past that establish recognizable paths and affect contemporary political strategy, institutional design, and policy outcomes within the American nation.
