DCOM 101 - American Sign Language I (C) [SGR #4, HSDC] Description This course introduces students to American Sign Language (ASL), including practice with basic conversation, grammatical forms (topic-comment, questions, negatives), vocabulary, spatial relations, visual-gestural communications, non-manual signs, finger spelling and numbering. Norms, values, social rules and traditions in American Deaf Culture are emphasized.
This course meets System General Education Requirement: SGR #4
This course qualifies for High School Dual Credit: HSDC
