SPAN 560 - Applied Translation in Spanish

Description This course focuses on the translation process itself, that is, its practice and strategies, from and into Spanish. The selected texts go from lesser to greater complexity and focus mainly on the medical, legal, business, and literary fields. Stress is placed on the importance of understanding each text as a translation unit, examining its problems and facilitating their resolution with regards to their morphosyntactic, lexical-semantic, and stylistic-pragmatic systems.
