SOCW 710 - Social Work With Older Adults 3 cr
Description This elective course is designed to provide students with an in-depth understanding of aging theories and issues related to old age at individual and societal levels for effective social work practice with older adults and their families. This course examines both normative and pathological aging for their impact on physical, psychological, and economic functioning. The course will also discuss social aspects of aging relating to family roles and responsibilities, cultural diversity, support networks, and the use of health and social service. Prerequisites and Corequisites Registration Restrictions: Graduate student status.
