NATV 230 - Native Images in Contemporary Media This course examines the portrayal of Native Peoples and their cultures in mass media and how imagery affects the attitudes of people and policy-making. The course also examines differences between a “Western” or non-Native and Native cinema and how these differences define the place and space occupied by Native Peoples in a dominant or mainstream society.
