The business administration major, previously known as the management major, is one of the most popular academic programs among the Beacom School of Business’ undergraduate majors. The degree provides a solid foundation for students wanting a general or specialty business focus in operations management, entrepreneurship or a program tailored to your career plans.

HR professionals are instrumental in decision-making at the highest levels of the organization. In fact, more and more of America’s most respected companies are leveraging HRM as a key driver of their sustained competitive advantage. Our human resource management (HRM) program will assist you in creating a workplace that attracts top talent, selecting the best employees, conducting training and development, providing performance management and maintaining legal compliance. Our students learn state-of-the-art best practices and gain invaluable hands-on experience working with actual employers.  If you are looking for an engaging career with a positive employment outlook; one that is financially rewarding, personally gratifying and always challenging; we encourage you to learn more about our program.  At the Beacom School of Business, we teach excellence in HRM because we understand its vital role.

As an entrepreneur, you are able to create business opportunities, and plan, establish and grow new projects. You could also manage innovative projects at new and existing firms. Our graduates in Innovation & Entrepreneurship will leave the Beacom School of Business with the important skills needed to run their own businesses.  The creative mind of an entrepreneur is in high demand in the job market. These abilities make career opportunities endless as our graduates will not only start their own businesses but also be sought out by existing companies.  In addition to the course work you will receive while pursuing your degree, entrepreneurs will appreciate the important relationships they will develop through our real life projects.

The management major is one of the most popular academic programs among USD undergrads. The degree provides a solid foundation for students wanting a general or specialty business focus.  Our management faculty bring to the classroom a wealth of teaching expertise and knowledge in the field based on professional experience. They are business experts, innovative teachers and dedicated mentors who instruct students on business methods and then apply their teaching through school-sponsored, student-run organizations.

Our marketing program gives you the skills to analyze and understand the field of marketing and the influences that affect marketing strategy. Marketing skills will help you create exchanges that satisfy needs and wants of customers while providing revenue and other benefits to the organization; create new products, research customer behaviors, and promote, price and distribute products and services; create unique product and service offerings that distinguish the organization from its competitors; support and establish mutually beneficial long-term customer relationships.
