Degrees administered directly by the Graduate School at the University of South Dakota:
Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies
Technology Development & Entrepreneurship Graduate Certificate
The University of South Dakota offers an interdisciplinary graduate program. The Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies program began in 1977. It is designed primarily for, but not limited to, non-traditional students who would like to develop their own program of study. The students self-design a curriculum in tandem with their advisor to best suit their educational goals and learning needs.
In 2021, the Technology Development & Entrepreneurship Graduate Certificate was created. Featuring a blend of STEM education and real-world training in business analysis and technology evaluation, this value-added credential offers tangible support for graduates facing a competitive job market. Think critically across disciplines and solve practical problems through real-world interactions with inventors, business leaders and area experts which provide education beyond the classroom. The academic fields for the certificate include, but are not limited to, biomedical engineering, business, chemistry, basic biomedical sciences, biology, computer science and physics.
