Program Description:

The University of South Dakota Master of Social Work program prepares professionals to provide social work services in diverse communities in South Dakota and the surrounding region. The Master of Social Work Program seeks to educate a workforce of social workers who are able to deliver more advanced social work services such as clinical and therapeutic services, administrative and staff supervision, policy analysis and development and community planning and organization which will effectively meet the social services needs of the citizens of our state. The Master of Social Work degree is offered in two formats. For individuals who possess a baccalaureate degree in social work, a 33 credit hour advanced standing concentration curriculum is offered. For individuals who do not possess a baccalaureate degree in social work, a 60 credit hour foundation and concentration curriculum is offered. The admission cycle and application dates differ for the foundation/concentration and advanced programs.
