34-35 MAJOR HOURS, 120 DEGREE HOURS
The general major requires 35 hours, including 17 hours of required core courses. Beyond the required core courses, students must complete 18 hours of electives from LAKL and/or NATV, of which at least nine hours must be at the upper-division level (300-400). Students may elect a Native Studies major with specialization either in Oceti Sakowin Oyate Studies or Lakota language.

In addition to the core requirements, students select at least 18 hours from the following Native Studies courses:

Native Studies Major with an Oceti Sakowin Oyate Studies Specialization (34 hours).
