The Women and Gender Studies minor focuses on issues specific to women and acquaints students with the subject of gender hereby defined widely as the performance of masculinity and femininity in a variety of roles and settings, such as family life, work environments, and intellectual and artistic aspirations. The minor may accompany any major in the College of Arts and Sciences, and will be found particularly useful by students whose career goals demand high levels of analytical and critical thought and skills in interpersonal relations: hospital or school administration, business, consulting, counseling, education, human resources, journalism, law, medicine, psychology, religion, social work, and sociology.

To complete the 18-hour minor in Women and Gender Studies, students must take three hours of WMST 247 and an additional 15 hours from the courses listed below with the restriction that no more than six hours may be taken in any one prefix area.
