*Minimum of 30 credit hours must be taken from USD.
* Maximum of 90 transfer credit hours may be applied to the degree.
* A minimum of 12 of the last 30 credit hours must be taken at USD as the student may be completing the requirements for the CODA approved associate’s degree concurrently.

Pre-admission Requirements
Applicants to this degree pathway must have graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Dental Hygiene from a U.S. program accredited by the ADA Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) or be currently enrolled in any U.S. dental hygiene program that is CODA accredited.
For those concurrently enrolled in an associate-degree dental hygiene program, graduation from USD with a bachelor’s degree is contingent upon successful completion of the associate degree dental hygiene program.
System General Education Requirements
- Written Composition 3 cr
- Advanced Composition 3cr
- Oral Communication 3 cr
- Social Science 6 cr (Courses must be from two different disciplinary prefixes)
- Humanities 3cr
- Fine Arts 3 cr
- Mathematics 3cr (Above 102)
- Natural Sciences 6 cr (Two 3-credit courses with lab)
Mathematics-Select 3 cr from the following:
Supporting Course Requirements (12 cr hrs)
Select 12 credit hours in the following prefixes: PHGY, ANAT, BIOC, CHEM, MICR, NUTR, PHARM, or approved by department chair.
Departmental Requirements (55-73 cr hrs)
Dental Hygiene Science Core (12-15 cr hours)
Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) approved associate’s degree (40-58 credit hours)
- DHYG 3XXT/4XXT-CODA approved associate’s degree
