Dental Hygiene, B.S. (A.S.-B.S.)

Pre-admission Requirements

Applicants to this degree pathway must have graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Dental Hygiene from a U.S. program accredited by the ADA Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) or be currently enrolled in any  U.S. dental hygiene program that is CODA accredited.

For those concurrently enrolled in an associate-degree dental hygiene program, graduation from USD with a bachelor’s degree is contingent upon successful completion of the associate degree dental hygiene program.

System General Education Requirements

• Written Composition 3 cr
• Advanced Composition 3cr
• Oral Communication 3 cr
• Social Science 6 cr (Courses must be from two different disciplinary prefixes)
• Humanities 3cr
• Fine Arts 3 cr
• Mathematics 3cr
• Natural Sciences 6 cr (Two 3-credit courses with lab)

Select 12 credit hours in the following prefixes: PHGY, ANAT, BIOC, CHEM, MICR, NUTR, PHARM, or approved by department chair.
