The Graduate Mathematics Certificate is a program designed for current high school mathematics teachers who are either enrolled in or have completed a master’s degree, are interested in getting credentials to teach concurrent dual credit math courses. The 18 credit sequence of the Graduate Mathematics Certificate and Advanced Graduate Mathematics Certificate would allow them to do that.

Certificate Requirements

Abstract Component: choose one of the following (3 cr hrs):
MATH 513 - Introduction to Abstract Algebra I 3 cr hrs
MATH 514 - Introduction to Abstract Algebra II 3 cr hrs
MATH 536- Number Theory and Cryptography 3 cr hrs
MATH 537- Cryptography and Codes 3 cr hrs
MATH 561- Geometry 3 cr hrs
MATH 713 - Advanced Algebra I 3 cr hrs
MATH 714 - Advanced Algebra II 3 cr hrs
MATH 716- Theory: Algebraic Structures 3 cr hrs
Analytic Component: choose one of the following (3 cr hrs):
MATH 523 - Advanced Calculus I 3 cr hrs
MATH 524 - Advanced Calculus II 3 cr hrs
MATH 571 - Numerical Analysis I (C) 3 cr hrs
MATH 622- Difference Equations 3 cr hrs
MATH 625- Advanced Calculus 3 cr hrs
MATH 721 - Complex Variables 3 cr hrs
MATH 723 - Real Variables I 3 cr hrs
MATH 724- Real Variables II 3 cr hrs
MATH 741- Measure and Probability 3 cr hrs
MATH 751- Applied Functional Analysis 3 cr hrs

Graduate Math Elective:
Any MATH or STAT content course 500 level or higher not used as the Abstract or Applied Mathematics course for this Certificate.

Note:

Courses cannot be used to fulfill the requirements of both the Graduate Math Certificate and the Advanced Graduate Math Certificate.
