30 MAJOR HOURS, 128 DEGREE HOURS

All Anthropology majors MUST take the following 6 courses (18 hours)

ANTH 210 - Cultural Anthropology (C)
ANTH 220 - Physical Anthropology (C)
ANTH 230 - Introduction to Archaeology (C)
ANTH 280 - Socio-Cultural Theory
ANTH 485 - Practice of Anthropology
(Capstone course taken in junior year)
ANTH 490 - Seminar (C)

Additional Requirements

After introductory courses, students must take at least one advanced course in each subfield or blocks. Students must also take at least ONE COURSE from each of the three blocks below (9 hours):

Cultural Anthropology Block (3 hours)

Other courses with prior approval of faculty

Archaeology Block (3 hours)

Other courses with prior approval of faculty

Human Biology - Methods - Linguistics Block (3 hours)

Other courses with prior approval of faculty

Electives (3 hours)

One Anthropology course not used to fulfill any of the requirements listed above. For double majors, the elective is waived.
