Electives chosen from the following: Non-departmental Requirements
French Studies majors are strongly encouraged to take HIST 121/122 Western Civilization in partial fulfillment of the social sciences requirement and should consider taking ML 440/LING 403 Introduction to Linguistics in partial fulfillment of the humanities requirement. It is also strongly recommended that the French Studies major also elect at least one course in world literature in fulfilling the Humanities requirement. In addition, majors should seriously consider participating in study abroad programs, especially if they are pursuing a teaching career. The Department of Language, Linguistics & Philosophy also sponsors occasional study tours to French-speaking countries (ordinarily during the summer) in which students may be interested. |
