*Note: The M.S. in Health Sciences is not offered as a terminal degree. Sutdents who are [accepted to and] enrolled in the Ph.D. in Health Sciences program who are unable to complete the dissertation for personal or academic reasons, may earn the M.S. in Health Sciences.

Student Learning Outcomes (MS)
- Critically synthesize and integrate knowledge from the health sciences and the student’s professional discipline.
- Serve as experts within an area of inquiry important to healthcare.
- Provide leadership in education, research, health care, and health policy.
- Apply current educational research and theory in health science professional education.
- Integrate basic principles of ethics and inclusivity within all interpersonal and professional activities.

Note:
60% of coursework must be completed at USD. Up to 36 credits from USD or 30 credits from another regionally-accredited institution may be transferred in from the master’s or professional doctorate, subject to approval by the advisor and Graduate Committee.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Upon completion of the Ph.D. program, graduates will be prepared to critically synthesize and integrate knowledge from the health sciences and the student’s professional discipline.
- Upon completion of the Ph.D. program, graduates will be prepared to conduct original research and scholarly work that contributes to the generation and dissemination of new knowledge relevant to healthcare and interprofessional education.
- Upon completion of the Ph.D. program, graduates will be prepared to serve as experts within an area of inquiry important to healthcare.
- Upon completion of the Ph.D. program, graduates will be prepared to provide leadership in education, research, health care, and health policy.
