19 Credit Hours Required

Students with a high school or other background in Spanish may earn credit by examination for introductory and intermediate level courses. Consult the Department of Modern Languages and Linguistics for details.

All Spanish minors must complete the five required courses and one elective with a minimum grade of “C.”

Minor Requirements

Departmental Requirements (16 hours)

The following courses are required:
SPAN 102 - Introductory Spanish II (C) [SGR #4, HSDC]
SPAN 201 - Intermediate Spanish I (C) [SGR #4, HSDC]
SPAN 202 - Intermediate Spanish II (C) [SGR #4, HSDC]
SPAN 320 - Intensive Spanish Grammar Review
SPAN 330 - Reading and Writing for Communication (C)

Elective Requirements (3 hours)

Select 3 hours of SPAN at the 300 or 400 level
