Program Overview

Designed to give those interested in nonprofit management an opportunity to further develop their skills, this certificate focuses on nonprofit administration, fundraising, personnel management, grant writing, team building and budgeting. It requires three core courses and one elective course to complete the program of study. The student will identify elective courses collaboration with the certificate program advisor. POLS 521 - The Nonprofit Sector 3 cr
POLS 523 - Nonprofit Governance and Administration 3 cr
POLS 527 - Grants Management 3 cr
Select one course (3 credit hours):
EMPA 704 - Facilitation and Conflict Management 3 cr
When selecting from these courses you may complete in either the EMPA or POLS prefix:
EMPA 722 - Budgetary and Fiscal Management 3 cr

*Additional electives at the 700 level will be considered upon request to the program coordinator. Additional electives must relate to one of the federally recognized National Taxonomy of Exempt Entities (NTEE) service area classifications.
