Nurse Anesthesia Practice - (D.N.A.P.)

Program Overview


The Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice (DNAP) post baccalaureate program will prepare registered nurses to become Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) who will have the educational background and skills necessary to provide anesthesia care that is founded in innovative evidence-based practice and use of advanced technologies. Furthermore, graduates of the program will be able to assume leadership roles in a variety of healthcare settings and improve healthcare delivery. Learn more at usd.edu/nursing.

Note:


On August 11, 2021, the South Dakota Board of Nursing approved the University of South Dakota’s request for prerequisite status of the program. The program will be returning to the South Dakota Board of Nursing at least five calendar months before the expected opening of the program to request interim status.

The University of South Dakota Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice Program is accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA), 10275 W. Higgins Road, Suite 906, Rosemont, IL 60018; 224-275-9130. The program’s next review by the COA is scheduled for May 2028.
