Lake Area Technical Institute (LATI) and The University of South Dakota (USD) collaborative 1+1 Program
The 1+1 LPN to RN program is delivered only at Lake Area Technical Institute in Watertown, South Dakota. The 1+ 1 program is a collaborative program designed to allow LPN’s who graduate from LATI to enter the USD Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) curriculum with advanced standing and complete the ADN program in an additional 11 months.

LATI PN Program
The graduate of LATI PN program (currently licensed or with license pending) and accepted to the USD Watertown campus, will be granted 12 nursing credits upon completion of the LPN GAP examination:
NURS 205 (8 credits)
NURS 281 (4 credits are granted by completing the LPN GAP exam, enrollment in 4 credit hours of coursework is required) The LPN to RN (Watertown) student must complete all general education courses, as well as:
Curricular Plan
The following is an example of a curricular plan for the LATI/USD 1+1 student. Students may have individual reasons for changing the order of support courses in the following curriculum. Students must consult with their advisors before completing their schedules. FIRST YEAR
LPN program completed at LATI (Lake Area Technical Institute) and 13 hours of required general education coursework. SECOND YEAR AT USD, WATERTOWN CAMPUS
Note:
The LPN to RN student must complete all general education courses (30 credits), NURS 260 (9 credits), NURS 281 (4 credits), NURS 283 (1 credit), and NURS 285 (9 credits); for a total of 65 credit hours. |
