Graduate Certificate in Disaster Mental Health: 12 credits
The Graduate Certificate in Disaster Mental Health is designed for students who are enrolled in graduate mental health programs other than the Clinical Psychology Program at The University of South Dakota. It is also targeted at licensed mental health professionals who would like specialized training in Disaster Mental Health. Required courses: 9 credit hours
Elective courses: 3 credit hours
Additional Requirements for the Graduate Certificate in Disaster Mental Health:
All students enrolled graduate programs in a mental health discipline (such as counseling, social work, psychiatry) are required to complete their degree requirements in addition to the requirements for the proposed certificate. Graduate Certificate students are required to complete a disaster response scenario as a capstone exercise.
