History (B.A., B.S.)

36 MAJOR HOURS, 128 DEGREE HOURS

Departmental Electives (21 hours)


A minimum of 6 hours of American History and a minimum of 6 hours of non-American history must be included.

Non-department Requirements (15 hours)


Three credit hours of English literature above ENGL 210

Six credit hours of social sciences in two disciplines (ANTH, ECON, GEOG, POLS, PSYC, or SOC). At least one course in each of these two disciplines must be an upper-division course

Note


Topics courses will be taken in the areas of “Cold War,” and “US in World Affairs 1760-1900.”

A secondary school teaching degree may be acquired through the Department of History (B.A. or B.S.) or through the School of Education (B.S. Ed.). Students wishing to investigate the profession of secondary school teaching should contact the history department before the end of their sophomore year.
