Student must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 within the departmental requirements to complete a minor.

Departmental Requirements (8 credit hours)

CHEM 112 - General Chemistry I (C)
CHEM 112L - General Chemistry I Laboratory (C)
And either
CHEM 114 - General Chemistry II (C)
CHEM 114L - General Chemistry II Laboratory (C)
Or
CHEM 116 - Honors Principles of Chemistry
CHEM 116L - Honors Principles of Chemistry Laboratory
Note: CHEM 116 is for students who enter college with a strong background in chemistry. Students who satisfactorily complete CHEM 116/116L also receive credit for CHEM 112/112L as Credit By Examination.

Minor Electives (10 credit hours)

Note:

With prior permission of the department, an exception may be made with BIOC 430 counted toward the CHEM minor if the student has completed two semesters of General Chemistry and two semesters of Organic Chemistry before taking BIOC 430 and has a grade of B or higher in all CHEM and BIOC courses.
