SOCW 714 - Social Work With American Indians 3 cr
Description This course provides students with a critical understanding of culturally responsive social work practice with American Indian populations and communities. Course topics include: cultural competency standards in social work practice, American Indian history, social justice issues and oppression, the Indian Child Welfare Act, American Indian culture, current social issues affecting American Indian populations and culturally specific social work practice models and interventions. Prerequisites and Corequisites Registration Restriction: Graduate student status.
