Computer Science (M.S.)

Master of Science, Computer Science Plan A (thesis): Total 31 credit hours

Master of Science, Computer Science Plan B (non–thesis): Total 33 credit hours

Electives for students not seeking a Specialization (15 credit hours):

• 9 credit hours CSC 5xx, CSC 6xx, or CSC 7xx.
• 6 credit hours of Graduate coursework in Computer Science or in another discipline with the department’s approval.

Informatics Specialization optional (12 credit hours plus 3 credit hours specified in the core)

 Plan A students must choose a thesis topic in the informatics area.

• CSC 785 - INFORMATION STORAGE AND RETRIEVAL *

• 3 credit hours elective-Graduate coursework in Computer Science or in another discipline with the department’s approval.

 The specialization in Human-Computer Interaction is available as a Plan A degree only.
