MICR 445 - Vector-borne Infectious Diseases This course will focus on understanding medically-important arthropods and the pathogenic microbes they transmit. Students will become familiar with basic principles and concepts in medical entomology & vector-borne disease transmission, the basic biological characteristics of each group of arthropods of medical importance and the pathogens that they transmit, and understand the medical, social, and economic impacts of these arthropods and pathogens along with the strategies commonly used for their control.
Prerequisites and Corequisites Pre-reqs: BIOL 151 - General Biology I (C) [SGR #6, HSDC] and BIOL 153 - General Biology II (C) [SGR #6, HSDC]
