ARTH 403 - Art of the United States
This course is a critical exploration of the art and visual culture of the United States from the sixteenth century until World War II. The course will explore art from the United States of America in a variety of contexts, including politics, geography, gender, class, and race. By considering art in context, students will develop the tools to analyze American painting, prints, sculpture, and visual culture.
