The Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies minor provides students with a foundation in the study of gender and sexuality. Courses explore the intersection of gender (behavioral and social characteristics usually prescribed based on sex) with other structures of power and sources of identity, including race, class, sexuality, and ability, historically and today, in the context of family, work, law, politics, art, and ideas. The minor may accompany any major in the College of Arts and Sciences and is available for all majors at USD. The minor provides students with the tools to think critically and creatively about questions of gender and sexuality and apply these tools widely.
