Deaf Education Minor

Program Requirements (18 hours)

• DCOM 212 - Language Development *
• DCOM 423 - Rehabilitation Audiology and Technology for D/HH *
• DCOM 101 - American Sign Language I (C) [SGR #4, HSDC]
• DCOM 102 - American Sign Language II [SGR #4, HSDC]
• DCOM 496 - Field Experience (C) (3 credit hours required)

• Select one of the following:

• ELED 470 - Literacy Methods for ELL & D/HH Learners
• SEED 470 - Literacy Methods for ELL & D/HH Learners

Note:

*DCOM 212 and DCOM 423 can be used to satisfy the requirement for a major in Communication Sciences and Disorders as well as a minor in Deaf Education.

Students who complete a Communication Sciences and Disorders major are allowed to complete a Deaf Education minor.
